Chemonics is seeking applications from eligible applicants for the post of Malaria Technical Director.

Responsibilities
- Provide overall project technical oversight, leadership, and guidance to team members and consultants to achieve targeted results and impact
- Oversee and lead team to design, implement, and monitor implementation of technical activities pertaining to the integrated delivery and scale up malaria interventions
- Ensure technical rigor of approaches and activities in line with global, regional, and country-specific best practices
- Develop and adapt technical strategies, approaches, and activities to achieve objectives, and apply and contextualise global best practices and learning to the Ivorian setting
- In collaboration with MEL director, monitor programme results and ensure that the project provides high quality services, meets its annual targets, and maximizes positive outcomes
- Ensure coordination and collaboration with president’s malaria initiative, Ministry of Health, and other USAID implementing partners and cross-sector programmes
- Represent Chemonics in national level technical working groups, committees
- Ensure the timely and quality completion of all programme technical deliverables and reports in accordance with USAID guidelines
- Oversee and coordinate activities of regionally dispersed staff and directly supervise technical leads
Requirements
- Advanced degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, Neglected Tropical Diseases, Social Sciences, Medicine, International Development, or Management
- Seven years, minimum, of experience in designing and implementing malaria programmes in developing countries
- In-depth knowledge of and experience in United States government and President’s Malaria Initiative (PMI) rules and regulations preferred
- Proven experience in analysing public health data and applying information to improve project implementation across a wide range of technical interventions
- Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity
- Excellent oral and written French and English communication skills
