Chemonics is seeking applications from eligible applicants for the post of Chief of Party.

Responsibilities
- Provide overall direction, oversight, and implementation of programme activities in compliance with USAID regulations and Chemonics policies and procedures
- Serve as the primary liaison with USAID on strategic, managerial, and technical matters
- Lead efforts to collaborate and coordinate with other USAID/Somalia projects, DFID projects, local organisations, the government of Somalia, and other key stakeholders
- Ensure quality control and overall responsiveness of technical assistance provided under the contract, including programme results and deliverables
- As a representative of Chemonics, professionally work with USAID, local government counterparts, private sector associations, civil society organisations, and other key stakeholders
- Ensure relevant, productive and complementary activities are coordinated and leveraged effectively
Requirements
- Master’s degree in International Development, Health, Economic Development, or a relevant field
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field with 15 years of relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of master’s degree
- Ten years, minimum, of relevant technical experience in international development, preferably in agriculture, economic development (at least eight of these years must be in a management/leadership position in programmes of a similar scope and scale)
- Six years, minimum, of experience in similar development context (preferred)
- Ability to successfully lead and manage challenging projects involving both public and private stakeholders
- High level of leadership, interpersonal, technical, and analytical skills including a demonstrated ability to interact effectively and collaboratively with a broad range of public and private sector counterparts and key stakeholders
- Knowledge and experience with the Feed the Future programme and its reporting requirements
- Ability to provide technical guidance to partners in assessment, development, and implementation of the activity’s data quality initiatives
- Knowledge of the current and historic agricultural and economic sectors in Somalia (preferred)
- Ability to work effectively in teams and collaborate in a multi-agency setting
- Outstanding problem-solving skills, resourcefulness, and flexibility
- Ability to communicate in English clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
