Cooperative for Assistance and Relief Everywhere (CARE) International is seeking to fill the position of Regional Innovation Advisor.

CARE, an international NGO with local staff and community partners in 100 countries, creates local solutions to poverty and inequality.

Responsibilities

  • Pipeline sourcing and partnership development
  • Leading research and development and proof of concept
  • Coaching CARE teams to use innovation tools and analyse data
  • Identifying promising internal and external innovations for the team to support
  • Coordinate with country office staff members and technical experts to validate solutions
  • Leading development and execution of experiments for proof of concept validation
  • Coaching teams to understand and utilise innovation tools
  • Build local and regional partnerships with a range of stakeholders from local organisations to social enterprises and governments
  • Document and disseminate learning from validation of solutions in coordination with regional staff and the impact, learning, knowledge and accountability team
  • Identifying, nurturing, and validating solutions to maximise impact and minimise cost (external and internal)​
  • Developing organisational systems to track programme quality, cost-effectiveness, and progress to scale​
  • Building staff capacity on pathways to scale (including market-based approaches and advocacy), and innovation tools
  • Providing thought leadership to influence humanitarian and development sector policy and practices​

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Five years, minimum, of experience with international development, complex humanitarian contexts, social enterprise organisations, or Social movement groups
  • Training and experience in human-centred design, co-design and/or lean startup methodologies
  • Experience in structuring, managing, and executing design and experimentation engagements
  • Strong local ecosystem connections and networks
  • Experience in partnerships cultivation and management
  • Strong creative facilitation skills
  • Strong written communication skills
  • Strong organisational capabilities
  • Fluency in French
