British Council is seeking to fill the role of Programme Manager, EU-ECOWAS Scholarship Programme.
The British Council is the UK’s international organisation for cultural relations and educational opportunities.
The council builds connections, understanding and trust among people in the UK and other countries through arts and culture, education and the English language.
Responsibilities
- Manage the recruitment, selection, placement of candidates on the EU-ECOWAS scholarships programme
- Provide efficient management of the scholarships programme at a cluster level
- Provide management support to country delivery teams across the four programme host locations and ensure effective planning and the delivery of key milestones as outlined in the programmes’ description of action (DOA)
Requirements
- University degree or equivalent
- Three years, minimum, of scholarship management and administration experience
- Five years, minimum, of programme management and delivery experience
- Proven experience in organising and managing events in West Africa
- Demonstrated experience in managing relationships with external clients, partners and stakeholders
- Experience in delivering large scale contracts for donors/clients
- Working knowledge of the higher education sector, structure, systems and discourse
- Understanding of higher education sector priorities across sub-Saharan Africa
- Working knowledge and understanding of local and international scholarships models and delivery processes
- Fluency in spoken and written English
