The British Institute in Eastern Africa (BIEA) has opened applications for Thematic Research Grants.
The research projects must focus on one or more of these thematic areas: epidemics, pandemics and epizootics; citizens and science, knowing environments; technologies of politics; urban lives; and retelling the past.
Benefits
- Grants are normally between £500 and £1,000, but in exceptional circumstances, up to £1,500 may be awarded
Eligibility
- The researcher must have limited access to other sources of funds
- Applicant must be early career researchers and scholars in eastern Africa or the UK
- Applicants must be postgraduate students or students who have not followed conventional research careers but whose local knowledge or contacts make them well-fitted to conduct high-quality research
