Ashinaga, an organisation that provides financial support and emotional care to young people around the world, has opened applications for cohort nine of the Ashinaga Africa Initiative.
Launched in 2014, the Ashinaga Africa Initiative, contributes to sub-Saharan Africa’s expanding role in global development through increasing access to higher education abroad.
The organisation supports orphaned students who are committed to returning home and initiating change
Benefits
- Successful applicants will receive tuition, accommodation, travel costs, and other necessary fees
Eligibility
- Applicant should have lost one or both parents
- Applicant should have completed secondary school and received the results of national secondary school examination (technical and vocational degrees are not accepted)
- Applicant should have received the results within the last two years (any date after 02 August, 2019, including all of 2020 and 2021) or will have completed secondary school and received final exam results before 28 February, 2022
- Applicants should be born after 01 September, 1999
- Applicants should not have the means to attend university abroad without external financial support
- Applicants should be proficient in English, French or Portuguese
- Applicants should be regularly ranked in the top ten percent of their classes during their last two or three years of secondary school
