African Railway Centre of Excellence (ARCE) has opened applications for postgraduate scholarships.
ARCE is offering scholarships to citizens of African countries to pursue postgraduate studies in Railway Engineering, specialising in Civil Infrastructure, Rolling Stock and Traction Control, for the 2020/2021 academic year.
One of the African centres of excellence two projects supported by the World Bank, ARCE aspires to become a sustainable regional hub for training and research in Railway Engineering and Management.
Benefits
- Full scholarship (for non-Ethiopian citizens) covers monthly stipend of $600, tuition, health insurance and transportation cost
- Half scholarship (for competent Ethiopian female applicants) covers monthly stipend of $250 and tuition
- Part-timer scholarship overs tuition only
Eligibility
- Applicant must have completed last degree less than five years ago
- Applicant must be a citizen of an African country
- Applicant should have bachelor’s degree with at least a CGPA of 3.00/4.00 for males and 2.5/4.00 for females
- Female candidates and candidates from underprivileged regions or groups as well as candidates with disabilities are especially encouraged to apply
- The applicant should write a personal statement/motivation letter describing the candidate’s interest to join the programme
- The applicant should have two letters of recommendations of advisors/supervisors from previous educational institutions
