Africa No Filter (ANF) is seeking to fill the position of Programme Manager.
ANF exists because many stories about Africa still lazily revolve around the single story of poor leadership, poverty, corruption, disease, and conflict.
Responsibilities
- Oversight of the Nigeria and Kenya Entertainment and Media Hub Grant
- Developing and overseeing the EM Hub Grant workplan
- Developing, in support with African No Filter and CCHUB, a detailed strategy and work plan, manage and coordinate the implementation of the EM Hub Grant
- Management and maintenance of all stakeholder relationships about the EM Hub Project in both Nigeria and Kenya and with the Bill and Melinda Gates programme officer
- Oversight of the grant-making programme officer, who will manage the operational aspects of grant-making and disbursements to content creators and other grant beneficiaries under the programme
- Develop a network to source new grantees and partners to create a pipeline of young and emerging creators working with the hubs in Lagos and Nairobi
- Collaborating internally to develop grant guidelines; publicising grant opportunities; soliciting proposals; supporting application processes; preparing internal grant proposals and reviews; monitoring grant progress
- Working with the grants programme officer to guide applicants and grantees throughout grant development and monitoring processes
- Develop and organise grantee and partner convenings
- Promote and model excellent external relations with all partners associated with the project
- Participate in external meetings and conferences to support learning and dissemination of programme work
- Develop all project reports and reporting tools for the project
- Manage all key relationships and stakeholders in the project
Requirements
- A minimum of 10 years relevant work experience in Africa in the gender and creative, arts and culture, and content sector or related grant-making
- Proficiency with MS Office, including PowerPoint, Excel, and graphic representation skills
- Master’s degree or equivalent experience required
- A minimum of five years relevant work experience in Africa in the Creative, Arts & Culture and Content sector or related grant-making
- Proficiency with MS Office, including PowerPoint, Excel
- A proven track record of successful project management
- Experience working in the development sector and on donor projects related to gender issues
- Experience in the programme design and implementation of gender-responsive and representative programmes
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Strong oral and written presentation skills to internal and external audiences with clear messaging
- Have strong networks in the arts and culture space in Kenya and Nigeria
- Ability to quickly understand and analyse information, synthesise findings, and make recommendations
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail, demonstrated ability to manage time effectively with multiple projects on different time frames and priorities, ensuring all deadlines are met while retaining quality and maintaining composure
- Strong work ethic, supporting initiative and ownership of projects
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with and achieve actionable results through others
