Aspen Institute, through the Aspen Network of Development Entrepreneurs (ANDE), is seeking applications from eligible applicants for the post of West Africa Regional Chapter Head.

Responsibilities
- Strengthen engagement with existing members, while also recruiting new members to the ANDE network
- Establish and facilitate connections and collaboration among ANDE members in the region
- In collaboration with senior leadership, contribute to and execute a business strategy aligned with ANDE’s global and regional strategies, maintaining and building strong relationships with a wide range of donors, and developing and delivering upon a robust pipeline of new programmatic and resource development opportunities
- Coach and supervise programme teams for the successful delivery of results
- Ensure timely submission of high-quality internal and donor reports supporting national adaptation and use of programme management tools and work with programme staff to identify and address technical assistance needs
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including government ministries, private sector companies, business associations, and civil society organisations, and develop relevant partnerships
- Provide thought leadership to the small and growing business sector within the region
- Represent ANDE in legal matters within the region, ensuring ANDE retains and consults with qualified local legal counsel as needed
- Ensure that ANDE is appropriately registered and complies with regulations
- Prepare, review, and approve expenditures to ensure compliance with regional and donor financial requirements, and ANDE procurement/finance policies
- In collaboration with the managing director, lead the West Africa steering committee by recruiting, managing, and engaging with members drawn from the ANDE network
- Oversee and contribute to regional communications and advocacy strategies and campaigns, including engaging with senior-level decisionmakers in government and among other key stakeholders
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree with ten years, minimum, of relevant experience, or master’s degree with eight years, minimum, of relevant experience
- Proven ability to fundraise and work with donor organisations and professionally manage and represent an organisation
- Five years of management experience relating to the development and implementation of large-scale projects with responsibility for all aspects of operations, including HR, finance and procurement
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain high-performing teams in stressful contexts
- Experience working in small business entrepreneurship, impact investing, and/or international development
- Deep sense of mission to support small businesses across the region through engaging with an ecosystem of intermediaries
- Familiarity with climate and gender action in the region, especially climate-smart agriculture and gender-lens investing will be a plus
- Experience working with USAID and other bilateral funding is strongly preferred, with budget development and management experience
- Ability and willingness to travel up to 20 percent domestically and internationally
- Excellent communicator with public speaking experience preferred
- Fluency in written and spoken English and French
