Africa Practice is seeking to fill the role of Senior Consultant and Country Representative.

Africa Practice is a pan-African advisory firm operating at the nexus of government and industry.

The organisation works with public and private sector clients to help them manage risks and reputation in complex contexts.

Responsibilities

  • Manage assigned accounts effectively and profitably
  • Build and develop strong relationships within client organisation
  • Manage teams (including cross border) and budgets and ensure timely delivery of high-quality work
  • Design effective internal and external communications strategies (including media and social media)
  • Manage production of key strategic client documents (advisory/briefing notes, reports and presentations)
  • Leverage high-level current media contacts and strong relationships across the media sector for day-to-day requirements in crisis situations and for sensitive and complex assignments
  • Deliver tailored media training for clients
  • Maintain quality control on key materials, ensure timely billing on accounts, track profitability and manage monitoring and evaluation on assigned client work

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from respected institution
  • Five years, minimum, of experience in Strategic Communications (focusing on corporate communications and media relations)
  • Strong client relationship building skills and proven ability to manage prestigious blue-chip client accounts effectively (including cross border)
  • High level current media contacts and strong relationships across the media sector (local and regional)
  • Experience of crisis communications and excellent media relations skills essential
  • Outstanding written and verbal communications skills
  • Proven experience in research and report writing, opinion editorial crafting, speech writing and general copywriting
  • Ability to work flexibly under pressure
