African Development Bank (AfDB) is seeking applications from eligible applicants for the post of Research Assistant.
AfDB’s mission is to spur sustainable economic development and social progress in its regional member countries (RMCs).
Responsibilities
- Extract data from the in-house software Trust Fund Management System (TFMS/SAP) and other SAP systems to produce reporting dashboards
- Participate in the writing of reports, papers, presentations, and other division documents
- Consolidate, categorise and maintain background information and records on relevant issues
- Develop related databases and information systems and update them accordingly
- Maintain database of memorandum of understanding and cooperation agreements between the AfDB and its partners
- Support the secretariat of the standing committee on partnerships
- Support relationship management with Korea, India and China
- Support in developing and disseminating diverse communication products for the division
- Assist in the organisation of regular internal and external outreach events for the benefit of staff and other stakeholders, such as internal brown bag seminars, the biannual business opportunities seminars
- Support procurement process of division (drafting ToRs, solicitation of expression of interest, etc)
- Logistical support for the FIRM.2 team during meetings, such as conferences and workshops, both within and outside of the headquarters
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Development Studies, Political Science, International Relations, Business Administration, Policy Analysis, Statistics, or other related fields
- Six years, minimum, of experience working in development organisations and/or in research institutions in areas related to data analysis
- Knowledge of the bank and its operations would be a plus
- Data analysis techniques
- Knowledge of design, implementation, management and monitoring of programmes and projects
- Microsoft Office application skills
- Ability to communicate effectively (written and oral) in English or French
