ActionAid is seeking to fill the role of Project Officer for the Transformation Impact Fund (TIF).
ActionAid is a global movement of people working together to further human rights for all and defeat poverty.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate, plan, implement, and report on the TIF
- Responsible for all administration and logistics
- Assist grantees to access technical support from relevant experts in the global secretariat and the federation, as needed, to improve project success
- Supports TIF grantees to develop and track robust MEL indicators and feminist story-gathering, and develop six and 12-month narrative reports, with guidance from the programme quality, research, innovation and impact advisor
- Develop, review, and advise on appropriate frameworks and tools for TIF
- Ensure that TIF applications are linked to ActionAid and country strategies, frameworks, guidelines, and approaches
- Ensure countries comply with TIF guidelines and procedures
- Set up and manage the award process from start to finish (application guidance, application review, ‘Dragon’s Den’ interactive competition, finalisation of memorandum of understanding (MOUs)
- Anticipate and mitigate risks related to the TIF and ensure assurance processes are on track
- Lead on internal communications and information management
- Produce a consolidated annual TIF impact report/event that informs the next round of TIF allocations as well as feeds into larger ActionAid strategy, learning and accountability processes
- Lead on the production and sharing of learning products such as case studies, learning bulletins and infographics showcasing the organisation’s impact and good practices
- Liaise regularly with institutions and partnership fundraising communities to help grantees identify opportunities to secure additional external resources for TIF projects
Requirements
- Minimum of bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in a development-related field, with a strong programme/project development and management component
- Five years, minimum, of experience leading programme design and implementation
- Proven experience of using the human rights-based approach in designing and implementing development programmes in the global south, with clear hands-on experience of implementing or directly supporting the whole programme/project cycle from end-to-end
- Experience in providing MEL support to HRBA programmes/projects, tracking change, evaluating shifts in power and structural changes
- Excellent quantitative and qualitative MEL skills and familiarity with current approaches
- Strong analytical and conceptual skills
- Ability to document programme/project experiences and generate knowledge and learning to inform the future of the programme/project
- Participatory leadership style with negotiating and influencing skills
- Ability to work closely with others (often from a distance) to meet tight deadlines and multiple priorities
- Ability to work collaboratively across multiple teams and levels
