ActionAid is seeking an Impact Assessment and Shared Learning Support Consultant.

ActionAid is an anti-poverty agency that prioritises work with people living in poverty and exclusion; promoting values and commitment in civil society, institutions and governments.

Responsibilities

  • Provide supportive guidance to the monitoring and evaluation functions
  • Support programme staff of the sub-recipients, partners, and ensure the strategic and functional integration of monitoring and evaluation activities
  • Ensure active collaboration with the sub-recipients and relevant authorities
  • Support data management, supportive supervision, and data quality checks of the organaisation’s projects and accurate reporting of results for programme activities

Requirements

  • First degree in Social Sciences or Arts/Humanities
  • Membership of relevant professional bodies (desirable)
  • Three years, minimum, of post-NYSC experience, two of which should be in monitoring and evaluation
  • Experience in monitoring and evaluation of women’s rights, conflict mitigation, preventing violent extremism and/or democracy and governance programmes is essential
  • Experience working with development agencies, organisations, government officials, civil society leaders, community leaders and programme beneficiaries is essential
  • Ability to use the District Health Information System (DHIS)/or any other database software (desirable)
  • Relevant technical skills in analysing quantitative and qualitative data
  • Excellent organisational as well as English oral and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programmes, i.e., Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc., and the ability to use various statistical software programmes such as SPSS, STATA, and written communication skills, including report writing
  • Knowledge of reporting procedures, best practices, guidelines, and tools for monitoring, evaluation, and learning, including impact evaluation
  • Excellent planning and prioritisation skills
  • Ability to think strategically
  • Strong analytical/problem-solving skills
  • Multi-tasking skills and negotiation skills
