ActionAid is seeking to fill the role of Business and Human Rights Coordinator.
ActionAid is an international non-governmental organisation whose primary aim is to work against poverty and injustice worldwide.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate ActionAid’s engagements on business and human rights including, but not limited to, a United Nations (UN) Binding Treaty on the activities of transnational corporations (TNCs) and other business enterprises with respect to human rights
- Work closely with ActionAid country offices and global secretariat staff, primarily the Combatting Modern Slavery, Fair Green and Global
- Lead in the preparation, coordination and engagement with the Binding Treaty process and management of partnerships with the Feminists for a Binding Treaty and Treaty Alliance coalitions.
- Support the realisation of a shared vision for ActionAid’s work on business and human rights
Requirements
- Significant experience in a similar role, preferably in a multi-country setting
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Rights, Law or a related field
- Demonstratable experience and extensive knowledge of business and human rights
- Extensive knowledge of the gender concerns related to business, human rights, and corporate accountability from a feminist perspective
- Knowledge of and experience with the UN Binding Treaty on Business and Human Rights process (desirable)
- Five years, minimum, of experience in project management
- Global South experience (preferred)
- Five years, minimum, of experience in policy advocacy
- Excellent verbal and writing skills
- Negotiation and networking skills related to advocacy in regional and international policy spaces
- Fluency in written and verbal English
- Knowledge of other languages (desirable)
