Action Against Hunger is seeking applications from eligible applicants for the post of Field Coordinator.
The organisation is a global humanitarian outfit that takes action against the causes and effects of hunger.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate the implementation of ACF’s country strategy in its area of intervention
- Coordinate all the implementation of programmes in the field
- Manage teams in area of intervention
- Facilitate good relations with the coordination teams
- In the absence of the DP or deputy DP, represent ACF and ensure relations with partners, authorities, United Nations agencies and NGOs in area of intervention
Requirements
- Master’s degree (bac+5 level diploma) in Humanitarian or Generalist
- Three years, minimum, of experience in coordination of a base, management of humanitarian programmes
- Very good knowledge of humanitarian principles and ability to disseminate and enforce them
- Technical and coordination experience, including solid experience with institutional donors and various humanitarian coordination forums
- Strong experience in project management, and with the tools and methodologies to carry out needs assessments, programme design, project implementation and monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning
- Excellent managerial skills to coordinate emergency programme teams to ensure the implementation of the ACF country strategy
- Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills
- Ability to communicate clearly while adapting to audience
- Ability to supervise the teams in order to facilitate good relations with the key stakeholders
- Capacity to adapt according to the evolution of the context, while maintaining focus on the implementation and monitoring of projects
- Good resistance to stress and ability to work in an unstable safe environment
- Experience in security management, information gathering and context analysis
- Good knowledge of ACF procedures and the conditions and constraints for the implementation of operations in the areas of ACF intervention
- Fluency in French and English
